NICO has captured the most iconic cars of this century with his original mixed media on canvas.
Bond 007 DB5 and McQueen’s GTO Mustang is in Petersen’s Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
The impressionistic use of lines and colors give the mixed media of NICO’s originals the force and energy to leap from the canvas. NICO uses the paint as an organic part of the image that often breaks away from the clean lines of the cars. This seems to give the images a painterly quality that separates them from the sharpness of a photographic likeness but at the same time makes them look like convincing representations of the painted subject.
