James Brown. At a press conference for the event, Ali began ranting about how the white man had taken the black man’s true names and true dress away. He pointed at me and yelled, “The white man will send a white woman photographer before they would send a black photographer.” James Brown jumped up and said, “Wait a minute, the white man buys my records!” Though he almost got me killed on the plane coming over, he saved me on this ride.
