NYC Contemporary Artist Bobby Hill Unveils Oscar Sculpture with Interactive Art Installation at Mouche Gallery

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, FEB 22, 2013– MOVE OVER OSCAR, ARTIST BOBBY HILL is the new golden reason to come to Beverly Hills this weekend as he unveils his first “BHillboards Statuette” during a exclusive two day live art installation at Mouche Gallery in Beverly Hills from Saturday, February 23rd to Sunday, February 24th. The “BHillboards Statuette” honors the Best Actress nominees and ascends Bobby Hill from recognized canvas artist to avant-garde Hollywood sculptor. The iconic statuette will be awarded to the Academy Award winner for Best Actress.

After being honored by the American Friends of The Louvre Young Patrons Circle at the internationally recognized Art Basel Miami Beach 2012, and participating in exclusive commissioned collaborations with Coca Cola, Nike and The James Hotels in Chicago, New York and Miami, Bobby Hill splashes onto the Los Angeles scene to capture the energy of the Oscars with an evolved canvas to sculpture method through this live BHillboards experience at Mouche Gallery.

The tribute piece will be the perfect life size mantle companion for best actress nominees that include The Impossible’s Naomi Watts, Silver Linings Playbook’s Jennifer Lawrence, Zero Down Thirty’s Jessica Chastain and the much buzzed about Quvenzhane Wallis of Beasts of The Southern Wild.

Standing in the private art collection of internationally recognized celebrities like Jay-Z and having garnered notoriety in Barcelona, Copenhagen and Freiburg Germany, Bobby Hill has catapulted to new heights in the pop graffiti art era and will continue to strive after this latest installation at Mouche.

Those looking for a unique form of celebrating this years Oscars and straying away from the usual viewing parties can stop by the BHillboards experience and join Mouche Gallery’s Oscar celebration from Saturday, February 23rd to Sunday February 24th, 2013 and witness a live art tribute to cinema alongside taking home a selection of popular hand painted “BHillboards” screen prints on paper that celebrate pop culture.

The “BHillboards Statuette” is inspired by “The BHillboards Collection,” a group of original mixed media paintings by Bobby Hill that utilize billboard posters taken from the streets of NYC and are on exclusive display and available for purchase at Mouche Gallery starting on Friday, February 22, 2013.

ABOUT BOBBY HILL

Bobby Hill (b. 1973) is a New York based visual artist whose career started as an illustrator and transcended to canvas painting in 2008 after returning to the US from his first trip overseas. His recent canvases combine ripped NYC billboard posters with elements of abstract expressionism, pop imagery and graffiti to create “The Bhillboards Collection.”

He has been behind the scenes for years, going from helping the Ecko Unlimited Company sell their first six designs at a Harlem summer street festival, to having his work commissioned by Coca Cola, Nike, XXL Magazine, Slam Magazine, and the Source Magazine. He has also been featured in Mass Appeal Magazine, Gen Art, Max Fish, The Grey Worldwide Gallery, The Art Directors Club, a number of events in Chelsea, Soho, Williamsburg, Bushwick NYC and several galleries in Europe. He briefly founded his own brand of bOB hiLL t-shirts and has sold countless artworks to various buyers including rap mogul Jay-Z.

In 2010, Bobby Hill produced his first art event and promoted it by hiding $50,000 worth of art prints around the streets and trains of NYC. Spring 2012, he completed his “New Era In Art” European tour and visited Barcelona, Copenhagen and Freiburg Germany with “The Bhillboards Collection.”
