Keiko Noah of Mouche Gallery, Beverly Hills Presents
A Special Evening : Robert Knight + Friends Book Signing and Exhibition
Iconic Photographer Robert Knight Will Sign Copies of His New Book
Slash: An Intimate Portrait
With Proceeds From Sales To Benefit Music Unites.
On Friday October 5th, 2012 from 7 to 9 PM, at the innovative and elegantly chic Mouche Gallery in Beverly Hills, famed rock n’ roll photographer Robert Knight will sign copies of his latest book, Slash: An Intimate Portrait (Insight Editions). Space is limited and RSVP required: rsvp@mouchegallery.com. Featured at the gallery will be an exhibit of Knight’s treasured work with Slash, as well as his mythmaking photos of other legendary artists.
Slash: An Intimate Portrait takes you beyond the glitz and mystique, to reveal the warmth, charm, and humility of one of popular music’s most revered rockers. Robert Knight’s photographs in Slash: An Intimate Portrait traces significant milestones over twenty years in Slash’s career, showing him onstage, in the studio, and at home.
Robert Knight has a rare talent for capturing the true essence of his subjects, revealing the candid, dramatic, and often funny in larger-than-life rock stars. His lens has captured some of the greatest guitarists of all time: Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Steve Vai, and Eric Clapton. Currently, his work graces over 200 Guitar Center locations.
A percentage of proceeds from this event will be donated to Music Unites, a non‐profit organization dedicated to bringing music education to underprivileged children in underfunded inner city school systems. Music Unites goal is to connect people through the universality of music by providing communities with opportunities for a rich musical experience. This is achieved through education programs and by offering established and emerging musicians performance opportunities in a variety of venues and locations, including schools where they act as mentors to the students. ʺSupporting music education is key especially now with the influx of recent budget cuts. We feel honored to be part of this special gallery celebrating the rich experience of uniting music and art created by one of the most iconic musicians of all time, Mick Fleetwood,ʺ says Michelle Edgar, Founder of Music Unites. Music Unites kicked off its first after-school program at Centennial High School in Compton thanks to the House of Rock benefit where Guitar Center donated 30 guitars to go to students.
Michael Lemmo, a member of Robert Knight’s Brotherhood of the Guitar, will be playing a special acoustic performance. Lemmo picked up the guitar at age 11 and quickly found a sound all his own. At the age of 17 he received a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music but took his talents elsewhere to persue the life of a songwriter. Michael has played for artists such as Eddie Van Halen and John Mayer but always remains humble.
Mouche Gallery, Maestro (Owner) Keiko Noah, has assembled a stunning collection of works from celebrities and public figures. Some have achieved broad recognition among art critics, others remain unknown awaiting discovery. All remarkable and extraordinary. There has never been a presentation featuring these works of art by Robert Knight, until now. Legendary featured artists include: Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Slash, Jimi Hendrix, Grace Slick (Jefferson Starship), Jerry Garcia (Grateful Dead) and Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac).
Mouche Gallery also offers fine art photography by: Terry O’Neill, Lynn Goldsmith, Elliott Landy, Michael Joseph, Robert Knight, Neal Preston, Andee Nathanson, and Maryanne Bilham.
