Clara Hallencreutz at Mouche Gallery Maui
Clara Hallencreutz has contributed to a number of exhibitions in USA, UK, Australia, China, France as well as Sweden. The tone of her artwork is amusing and carefree, featuring bold dynamic colours isolated in a clean surrounding. Often her images portray a small scale installation of everyday objects painted with a pop artist palette. The inspiration varies and is influenced by the visual language of art movements including surrealism, geometric abstraction and pop art. Sometimes a vague influence can be distinguished and on occasion, an abstract interpretation or re creation of an old masters work, such as Mondrian or Magritte is clear. The colours play a central role in the connection between the viewer and Clara’s work, while the object portrayed simply plays a supporting part. Shades, texture and form inject the emotional impact. Clara’s work articulates joy and energy and without being aggressive or condescending, the suggestive images inspire further conceptual exploration and imagination.Lynn Goldsmith at Mouche Gallery

Folded bills just happens to have a lot of traction because EVERYTHING seems to be about MONEY Dan Tague bbc. Dan Tauge portrays how money plays a central role in American politics and culture through his folded money series. Though he may not be the first artist to explore the role of money, few have used the currency itself to illustrate their argument so effectively. His work appears in numerous public and private collections including The Whitney Museum of Art and The Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation. He is the recipient of several awards including The Joan Mitchell Foundation and Pollock Krasner Foundation. Known as an artist in residence at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and the La Napoule Art Foundation in France. William Sweetlove thrives on the superficial, placing it in razor sharp contrast to the sententious. Through a number of variations on the same theme he creates friction between the artificial and the substantial, completely obliterating the boundaries between toy and work of art. His world is a world in which poodles, giraffes and penguins are rendered into artifacts which unite Dadaism, surrealism and pop art in a common post modernistic synthesis. Keiko Noah, Maestro at Mouche Gallery, Beverly Hills, presents “When We Were Young” – by Douglas + Francoise Kirkland. A delicious glimpse into a reflection of a young couple falling in love in a lost era a photo time capsule this is the story of A Ménage à Trois ... Douglas, Francoise, and the Camera... “The Olympus Pen Camera was very important to me. It takes pictures half the size of a traditional 35mm camera but allows you to shoot quickly, and shoot more pictures. Stanley Kubrick introduced me to this on the set of, “2001: A Space Odyssey,” He always carried one of these with him, and he said I should get one, I did, and it resulted in my making this book.” –Douglas Kirkland on “When We Were Young” That little camera allowed Douglas to capture moments that would normally slide into oblivion the breath between the words of his intimate life. The result is a brilliant and sensual memoir of a free spirited and uninhibited era.
